OPI MPJ

So, here it is!
My long-wished MPJ.
I knew there was something about this polish, all of them didn't look the same.
That assumption couldn't be more correct.
I thought I was buying the one with huge holographic effect, I was wrong.
This one is pretty nice in it's own way, though. Especially in the sun as you can see below :)
I just thought the holographic effect had more.. WOW factor. Don't really know how to explain it:)

Think this MPJ is the new version, it's most definitely not the "original" one I had on my wish list.

Did any of you girls ever buy a polish that wasn't what you'd hope for?

Just had a thought..
if any of you girls have got the MPJ. Please note in a comment what it says underneath the bottle. Mine is NL B59,
What does it say on yours?

Geeky math nails

Today I did a mani inspired by fractals, a topic we learned about on a Math Camp - one week just before I went to Milan :)
This is the first mani I've done with a small brush, not just the one from the lacquers. The brush is a single-use brush, the ones that's used when you can get a make-up in a store. I think it was actually for eye liner, but who cares, it worked brilliantly ;)
With thumb mattified

For those who can't see or don't know what it' supposed to look like: the thumb is Kochs' snowflake, index is pi, middle is the Sierpinski triangle, ring is the Mandelbrot set and the pinkie contains Greek letters: alpha, beta, omega, lambda and rho.
Before the ring finger got extra effects ;)
I think I tried with 'a step' too much on this one, if you understand what I mean. I tried to make spikes so it would be like step four on the background paper, but I think I should have stopped at step three. Sadly I didn't get a picture before I ruined it.

Probably the prettiest pi sign I've ever made. Normally I just screw it up. Proud ;)

A simplified version of the Sierpinski triangle

Before I filled it out :)

A simplified version of the Mandelbrot set with colour effects ;)

Comparison with 'the real deal'
Pinkie with alpha, beta, omega, lambda and rho next to the Mandelbrot set before colour effects

The stuff I used to make this mani: my mixing palette aka my calender, a small brush, nail polish thinner so the polish was easier to work with on the brush and didn't get too thick too fast and polishes: Kiko: no. 333, 235, 240 & 296, Depend: no. unknown(the red one), 34 & 247(I think), Gosh: 600 Matt Effect Top Coat & Special Edition 001 Lavender Love, Barry M: 302 Fuchia, Rival de Loop: no. 30 & La Femme Beauty: 133 Ultra Magents

While I was doing this mani I managed to break my brand new glass nail file :'(

Anyway, what do you think?
And of course, enjoy your holiday :)

Oh my Gosh, those flowers!

Today I did this flower mani.
The Gosh mini polish has a really thin and sorbet-like texture, which gives it a very soft and smooth look.
- I think : )

After applying the polish, I put on the 3D flowerstickers. The Stickers are called 3D because of the thickness of the stickers.
Which also makes them incredibly odd to touch when you aren't used to wearing nail art stickers!

I applied 2 coats of Essie Good To Go topcoat to make sure they wouldn't fall off.

By the way, was wondering if the other OH MY GOSH polishes are just as sorbet-like as this one? Please share if you know, girls. Would really appreciate it :)

Sunshine Award!

I have been awarded the Sunshine Award by Finger Polish Mania. Am very honoured about this, never thought this blog would stand out in the crowd, but something must have caught her attention ;)

Now on to the Rules I must follow!

1) Thank the person who gave you the award - I did, several times ! :)
2) Write a post about it - Here it is!
3) Answer the questions below - Am on to it :)
4) Pass this award on to 10 other bloggers who I feel are worthy and send them a message to let them know.

Questions:

A) Fave color - The red one that's almost orange, but not quite there. Very summer-like and perfect right now!
B) Fave animal - My dear dog, Bella. In my (very objective;)) opinion the most darn pretty Golden Retriever in the world !
C) Fave number - 3, like the fairytales.
D) Perfume I am wearing - Gucci - Envy Me
E) Something that identifies me - My curly, in the summertime almost golden hair and my freckles -these answers are SO seasonal!
F) What is my passion? Living my life the way I want to live it. -Including lots of polishes of course!
G) Would you rather get or give presents- Would rather just go shopping on my own. Love presents, giving and recieving them, but there's nothing better than a whole day in the city with lots of time on your hands and just strolling around. Love it!
H) What was the last eyeshadow you wore- Rimmel something, neutral to cover the lid beneath the eyeliner
I)   Favorite day of the week- Saturday. Weekend all around you!
J)   Are your nails painted now? What silly question is that? Of course they are painted right now! :)

Since I read quite many blogs it wasn't that easy to decide.
Those I've chosen definitely deserved it, inspiring other people as they do! -think these blogs NEED to be represented here, as some kind of appreciation from my side. Needed the list to include 11 blogs, here they are.
1) Neglenymfer
2) Coewless
3) Vettelicious
4) Swaafie
5) Neglefeer
6) Rijah
7) Living While Loving
8) Nailpolish and me
9) Karina Chr
10) Mette - My polish world

Green ombre

Hi everyone!
So today I did my very first ombre.
Actually thought it turned out pretty good :)

The polishes I used are from Cliché, a brand I picked up in Lisboa. The pinky only needed one coat, the ring and middle finger took two and index- and thumb took 3 coats.

I really love that even though this brand seems to be pretty cheap and discount-ish, they still manage to name their polishes.
Am exited about the hippie one at the right, don't think I've seen that shade any other places,
have you?

HELP-by the way :)
Does any of you lovely followers know what to do with really dry cuticles? Hand lotion don't seem to be working, let me know what you are using, maybe that will work ..?

Flip flop flowers

Summertime!!
For this mani I used my first 3d stickers, I love them to death!
Though, It really felt funny because they were so high/thick, just has to feel them all the time, odd!

This is me trying to be really clever, hiding my index finger,  because unfortunately one of the stickers fell of within 24 hours. Really liked the mani though. Will try to put on some more coats of top coat next time I think.

The polishes I used:
Basic (probably no. 33?) and China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy - Am in love with this color! It's so summer and almost neon!

The ones I used for this were from the left: no. 1+6+7, also called
(in italian, further confusion, isn't it great? :))
270 - Palliettes Acqua Sparkle T
342 - Verde Acqua
343 - Verde Primavera

Actually i'm not sure wether the first polish is a flakie or just a glitter one, what do you guys think?

Shopping!!

Got home to Denmark, just in time for Matas' summer sale! :)

Boght these 4 beauties, only the Rimmel's were on sale, though.
Thought The two gosh polishes were so pretty, needed them too! :)

From the left they are called
Gosh - Silver, Gosh mini - Pink Red, Rimmel - Pop Rose, Rimmel - Sorbet So Good

Can't wait to try them one!

My Private Jet has been on my wishing list for some time now, and when I saw it on sale.. Do I even need to ninish that sentence? :)

Found these two in Randers, a store called Sinnerup. These were both 1/2 price, 62,50 each. Pretty expensive still, I think, but still.. Sale and OPI just doesn't come together very often

What do you think, is 62,50 (about 12$) expensive for polishes?

Holiday nails

Today I wanted to try out some of the things I've bought during the holidays, it turned out like this

The colours I used were my barbie doll polish called Casuelle, no. 16. It's pretty sheer and could easily take some more coats. The other one is Maybelline mini colorama - Urban Coral. This is the one without the shimmer in it
I used 2 coats of both of the polishes.

By the way, this was my very first experience with nail art stickers. Really should have bought more, they are relative expensive if you want to buy them somewhere in a store in Denmark, unfortunately.

Show It and Glow It, Carnival and H&M

For this mani I used
H&M mini - dark purple
Essie - Carnival
OPI - Show It And Glow It

The first two fingers are dark purple and carnival. Last two are the OPI polish. Wanted to see how they looked on top of the H&M polish.
Unfortunately the result wasn't all that impressing I think.

Best friends:)
Would be nice to try them on without anything on as a base.
Would probably take 1000 years to do, but think the result would be amazing :)

And the holo-glitter-pics :)
